'Ramayana': Ranbir Kapoor bowls audience over with 'Rama' first glimpse; fans say 'We are proud of you'

The first trailer of Nitesh Tiwari‘s ‘Ramayana‘, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, debuted at a special screening at Burbank, Los Angeles on Monday and fans cannot stop raving about it. The hype around the film has hit new highs with the early reviews, videos and photos from the event flooding social media sites. At the special event, the audience was treated to the first glimpse teaser titled ‘Rama’, which fans at home in India will have to wait until April 2 to feast their eyes on the spectacle.

The screening, held at an IMAX theatre, bowled over the audience and the host who praised the footage as he took the stage to say, “That was one of the coolest videos I have ever seen!”Besides launching the teaser, Ranbir took to the stage with director Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra for a Q and A, where they spoke candidly about the film, the making and more. Videos from the event see Kapoor interacting with the audience, and expressing his gratitude while reflecting on the significance of the moment. “Thank you for coming here,” Ranbir began and went on to say, “This is a very special moment for me, to come with our film and labour of love and to show it to you all. You guys are actually the absolute first people to see this.”

Audience hail ‘Ramayana’ first glimpse – ‘Rama’

During a Q&A session, Kapoor responded to a question with “Jai Siya Ram,” which translates to “Victory to Sita and Rama,” an audience member noted. Following the event, Ranbir was seen engaging warmly with attendees. In one interaction, a member of the audience told the actor, “We are proud of you,” while others praised the clip, with one saying, “It was so nice.” One attendee later shared their experience in a detailed social media post, writing, “Ranbir Kapoor… what a moment. When greeted and asked a question during the Q&A, he responded with ‘Jai Siya Ram’—such a beautiful and respectful connection with the audience. You can tell he’s truly immersed himself in the story, understanding its depth and meaning.”

‘Ramayana’ first glimpse early review

A fan also offered an emotional reaction to the teaser writing in a detiled post, “R A M A Y A N A: Had the honor of watching a preview of the trailer for Ramayana—releasing April 2, 2026—in Burbank, and I’m still feeling it,” she wrote and added, “What Namit Malhotra is creating, with Nitesh Tiwari bringing this epic to life, is nothing short of breathtaking. The scale, the vision, the energy… all of it felt powerful.”Describing a specific moment from the teaser, the attendee added, “There was one moment that truly stayed with me—when Ram is sitting in a boat, his name is called, and he slowly turns. For someone who rarely gets emotional… that moment hit deep. It felt like home. The sound, the frequency, the emotion in that single word—it resonated in a way I can’t fully explain. Tears fell down my cheek—whether from joy or a sense of belonging, I just felt it.”The post also praised the filmmaker and producer’s ‘humble and grounded’ demeanour during the interaction. “Can’t wait to experience Part 1 this Diwali 2026” it read.

‘Ramayana’ release date

The Los Angeles event is reportedly part of the team’s broader global rollout for ‘Ramayana’. The first glimpse event is said to be just the first among many other events set to roll out in the months leading up to the film’s Diwali 2026 release.
