The Telangana Gaddar Film Awards 2026 witnessed a historic and emotional moment as Megastar Chiranjeevi received the prestigious NTR National Award for his unparalleled contribution to Indian cinema. The ceremony, held in Hyderabad on the occasion of Ugadi (March 19, 2026), saw Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy presenting the honour to the veteran actor. Celebrating the milestone, his son and global star Ram Charan took to Instagram to share “proud moments” from the event, expressing deep gratitude to the state government and describing his father’s journey as a constant inspiration across generations. This award adds another leaf to Chiranjeevi’s legendary legacy, following the record-breaking success of his 2026 Sankranthi blockbuster, ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.‘
Ram Charan shares proud moments from the event
In the pictures shared by the ‘Peddi’ star, he can be seen sharing the stage with Telangana CM, Revanth Reddy. Another picture shows Chiranjeevi receiving the award from Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit. In his post, he wrote, “Heartfelt gratitude to the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards for celebrating cinema and honouring such exceptional talent. Congratulations to all the winners.”Speaking about his father, he added, “It is an incredibly proud and emotional moment for our family to see @KChiruTweets Garu being conferred with the NTR National Award. His journey, commitment and love for cinema have been truly inspiring across generations and this recognition feels very special. My sincere thanks to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri @revanth_anumula Garu and the Government of Telangana for recognizing talent and hosting such a grand and memorable celebration.”
Chiranjeevi received the NTR National Award this year. This award is given to artists who have done great work in Indian cinema. Chiranjeevi has been in films for many years. He worked very hard and delivered many hit movies. This award shows his love and dedication to cinema.
Chiranjeevi on NTR’s greatness
Earlier, Chiranjeevi also shared about receiving the award. He shared his thoughts on NTR. On X (formerly Twitter) he wrote in Telugu, which loosely translates in English to: “Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao garu, who stood as a creator of history… a huge artist who carried forward fine arts in his very name. NTR means…N – Dance, T – Rhythm, R – Melody… a blend of all arts. A huge personality who took the glory of Telugu cinema across continents. Even if we don’t know how God looks… through the roles he portrayed, he brought God right before our eyes with his exceptional talent. It feels as though Rama Rao garu was born for cinema itself; Telugu cinema is unimaginable without him. Receiving the ‘NTR National Award’ in the name of such a huge personality is a great honour in my life.” On the work front, Chiranjeevi was last seen in ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’, which became his biggest film. On the other hand, Ram Charan will be next seen in ‘Peddi’ on April 30.
