Paresh Rawal says Hera Pheri without Babu Rao will be a disaster; cites rift between Akshay Kumar and producer for delay

Hera Pheri remains one of Bollywood’s most iconic franchises, with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal creating characters that continue to live on in pop culture. Ever since the third instalment was announced, however, the film has been mired in controversy. Now, Paresh Rawal has firmly stated that Hera Pheri 3 will definitely be made, while also shedding light on the technical issues delaying the project.

“The film will definitely be made”

During an episode of The Lavari Show, Paresh Rawal addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding Hera Pheri 3. The National Award-winning actor was quick to dismiss rumours and confirmed that the project is very much on track.Explaining the reason behind the delay, the Padma Shri recipient clarified that the issue has nothing to do with him personally and stems from a technical disagreement between Akshay Kumar and the makers of the film.

“It’s like kachva chaap agarbatti”

Reacting to reports about legal trouble, Rawal said, “All this that had blown up in between that Akshay Kumar has sued me for Rs 25 crores, that is all okay yaa, it’s like kachva chaap agarbatti.”He added that once the technical matter between the producer and Akshay Kumar is resolved, he is ready to come on board. According to Rawal, his participation hinges entirely on that resolution.

“Doing Hera Pheri without Babu Rao will be a disaster”

Reiterating the importance of his iconic character, Babu Rao, Rawal made it clear that the essence of Hera Pheri cannot be compromised.“But even at the cost of modesty, I am saying that if they’re going with the idea of doing Hera Pheri without Babu Rao, then it will be a disaster,” he quipped.
