Palash Muchhal, known for his work as a music composer and singer, has once again found himself surrounded by controversy. After calling off his wedding with cricketer Smriti Mandhana, the composer turned filmmaker now faces serious accusations from Marathi actor-producer Vidnyan Mane. Vidnyan has claimed that Palash deceived him of Rs. 40 lakh and was also dishonest in his relationship with Smriti. Taking a firm stand, Palash has approached the court and filed a Rs.10 crore defamation case, asserting that the allegations against him are entirely baseless and defamatory.
Palash Muchhal spotted at court amid allegations
Today, music composer Palash Muchhal was spotted at the court, accompanied by his team of lawyers. Dressed in a simple outfit, he chose to remain tight-lipped when asked about his cancelled wedding with Smriti Mandhana or the allegations made by the Marathi producer. After the hearing, Palash walked out of the court, ignored the paparazzi, and headed straight to his car.
Palash Muchhal issues legal statement on Instagram
On Saturday, Palash took to his Instagram account and share, “A legal notice of defamation of Rs. 10 crore has been sent by my lawyer Shreyansh Mithare to Sangli based Vidnyan Mane for his false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations made with the deliberate intent to malign my reputation and character.”
Palash Muchhal was named in complaint by Vidnyan Mane
A few days ago, PTI reported that Vidnyan Mane had approached the police in Maharashtra’s Sangli district, claiming that Palash had cheated him of ₹40 lakh. However, no First Information Report (FIR) has been filed in the matter yet.
Palash Muchhal was accused of fraud in a film project
According to the complaint, Palash met Vidnyan in Sangli on December 5, 2023. Mane, who was interested in investing in film production, was told by Muchhal that he could invest in his upcoming project ‘Nazaria’ as a producer. Muchhal allegedly told him that once the film was released on OTT platforms, he could earn a profit of Rs.12 lakh on an investment of Rs. 25 lakh, and also offered him a role in the film. The complaint stated that the two met twice after their initial meeting, and by March 2025, Mane had given a total of Rs. 40 lakh to Muchhal. However, when the project failed to materialize, Mane demanded his money back but reportedly received no response. Following this, he approached the police and also accused Palash of being unfaithful to Smriti before their marriage.
