US President Donald Trump on Monday said the United States would push the issue of acquiring Greenland at this week’s Davos Economic Forum, arguing that Denmark is unable to protect the territory. “We have to ‌have ‍it. ‍They have to have this ‌done. They can’t protect it, Denmark, they’re wonderful people,” Trump told reporters in Florida. “I know ‍the leaders, they’re very good people, but they don’t even go there.”He added, “I don’t think they’re going to push back too much.”Trump also shared an image on Truth Social depicting Greenland as part of “US territory.” The picture shows Trump alongside JD Vance and Marco Rubio, planting a US flag on the Arctic island.Trump said he would meet several parties in Switzerland’s Davos to discuss his ambition to take control of Greenland. In a Truth Social post early Tuesday morning, Trump said he had a “very good telephone call” with Nato secretary general Mark Rutte regarding the Danish territory.“I agreed to a meeting of the various parties in Davos, Switzerland. As I expressed to everyone, very plainly, Greenland is imperative for National and World Security. There can be no going back — On that, everyone agrees!” Trump said on Truth Social.Earlier, Trump had linked his claims over the Danish territory to not being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, in a letter sent to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store.
