Amid teeming anti-India hatred on social media, Nikki Haley‘s son Nalin Haley said India had not been a good ally to America. Accusing India of sending cheap labor to the US while buying oil from Iran and weapons from Russia, Indian-origin Nalin Haley said India has a “cheap government”. Then he said it’s not about India; the US needs to reevaluate its relationship with a lot of so-called allies. The comment came and India and US are very close to striking a trade deal after months of negotiation.Nalin Haley’s comment came in response to an old video of Vivek Ramaswamy, as old as of 2023, where Vivek championed decoupling of the US from China and expanding relationships with India. In the 2023 video, Ramaswamy said he was pushing for it not because he was from India. The video resurfaced as a section of MAGA is trying to backstab Ramaswamy’s Ohio governor bid. Nalin Haley is also a staunch critic of Ramaswamy, spoke openly against his policies. “India has not been a good “ally” to America. They send cheap labor to the US, buy cheap oil from Iran, and cheap weapons from Russia because they have a cheap government. And it’s not just India. The United States needs to reevaluate their relationship with a lot of ‘allies’,” Nalin wrote.Nalin Haley does not hold any position in the Republican Party but projects himself as a MAGA spokesperson. He campaigned for Nikki Haley’s presidential bid and his claim to fame, apart from being a ‘nepo baby’, includes his social media rants, rage-baiting Indians which he declared as his favorite hobby. Vivek Ramaswamy, on the other hand, filed his 2025 annual campaign finance report revealing that he raised $19.8 million in less than one year. The campaign claimed that Vivek received 254,883 donations from more than 88,950 unique donors, with an average contribution of just $76 which signals the campaign’s grassroots strength.
