New York Jets might be talking to the Green Bay Packers for Dontayvion Wicks amid strong speculations
As per Packer Report’s Easton Butler, the New York Jets have reportedly had a talk with the Green Bay Packers for their star wide receiver, Dontayvion Wicks.But the New York Jets are reportedly not the only ones who are interested in Dontayvion Wicks.A few hours ago, Packer Report’s Easton Butler took to X to make a post that read as, “Teams have been calling the #Packers about WR Dontayvion Wicks again…”The post added, “Some teams include the Bills, Raiders, Dolphins and Jets. Several others are calling, but these 4 have been the most prominent.”But that’s not all; a day ago, popular NFL insider ESPN’s Rich Cimini noted in a report that the New York Jets’ general manager Darren Mougey “has addressed almost every positional need, with one notable exception: wide receiver. Rest assured, he has a plan.”Rich Cimini added, “Brian Thomas Jr. (Jacksonville Jaguars), Rashod Bateman (Baltimore Ravens), Quentin Johnston (Los Angeles Chargers) and Dontayvion Wicks (Green Bay Packers) have been mentioned as trade possibilities.”However, the New York Jets have stayed away from the speculations and have not confirmed the possibilities yet. Back in 2023, in his rookie season, the Green Bay Packers’ Dontayvion Wicks showed potential on the field with 39 receptions for 581 yards and four touchdowns.In the 2024 season, Dontayvion Wicks recorded 39 receptions for 415 yards and five touchdowns, even though he struggled a bit with consistency.While he impressed fans and peers with his potential, the 2025 season was a disappointing one as he struggled with injuries. The 24 year old star wide receiver sustained a calf injury in Week 7 of the last season and a brutal concussion in Week 17.In December, Dontayvion Wicks also sustained an ankle injury as he struggled to perform well on the field. With a year left on his $4.1 million contract with the Green Bay Packers, all eyes are on Dontayvion Wicks’ performance in the next season.
