The registration process for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2026 will close soon, leaving aspiring medical candidates with only two days to complete their applications. The National Testing Agency (NTA) opened the online application window on February 8, 2026, and candidates can submit the form on the official portal neet.nta.nic.in until March 8, 2026, 9 PM.Students seeking admission to undergraduate medical programmes such as MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other allied courses must ensure that they submit the application form and complete the fee payment before the deadline. Forms submitted after the closing date will not be accepted.

Important dates for NEET UG 2026

Candidates should keep track of the upcoming stages after the application deadline.

  • Application window: February 8 to March 8, 2026 (9 PM)
  • Last date for fee payment: March 8, 2026
  • Application correction window: March 10 to March 12, 2026
  • Admit card release: Expected in April 2026
  • NEET UG 2026 exam date: May 3, 2026

The exam will be conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode across examination centres in India and abroad.

What happens after the application deadline

Once the registration window closes, the National Testing Agency will provide a short correction window for registered candidates. In this period, the registered candidates will be able to view the details they have submitted and will also be able to correct the details they are allowed to change, such as personal details, categories, or exam center.After the correction window closes, the agency will process applications and issue exam city intimation slips and admit cards. The admit card will contain important information including the exam centre address, reporting time, and instructions for the test day.Candidates must download the admit card from the official website using their application number and login credentials.

What candidates should do now

Aspirants who have not yet applied should complete the following steps before the deadline:

  1. Visit the official NEET portal.
  2. Register with basic details and generate login credentials.
  3. Fill in academic, personal, and exam centre preferences.
  4. Upload required documents including photograph and signature.
  5. Pay the application fee and submit the form.
