‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ opens with Abhira and Arman standing in the middle of Disha’s engagement, masks off and voices raised, exposing Gaurav and his family for exactly who they are. They bring up the dowry demands publicly and turn to Damyanti, asking her directly, if she is so committed to rules, why is she not raising her voice against dowry instead of feeling ashamed about divorce. The question lands like a challenge she cannot easily deflect.
The truth about Gaurav comes out
Abhira tells everyone that Gaurav wants to marry Disha for money and that Shalini wants a free maid for her household. She points out that despite being divorced herself, she is standing alongside Arman and the entire Poddar family for Disha and Aryan’s love. The Poddars unmask themselves . Damyanti is furious, calling them liars and impostors and refusing to accept the marriage. Gaurav tries to frame the whole thing as a false accusation made in Aryan’s favour. Arman turns on him and then turns to Damyanti with something more important: the decision belongs to Mamta and Nakul, not her.
Nakul steps forward and takes a stand for his daughter’s happiness, giving Aryan and Disha his blessing. Damyanti asks Nakul if he is going against her. He tells her he is simply supporting the person she loves most. Manisha asks Damyanti to step aside so she can meet Disha properly. Mamta and Nakul formally fix the marriage. The engagement Gaurav’s family planned ends with his family exposed and Disha’s future secured.
Myra goes missing
Abhira has been waiting for a call from Myra throughout the evening, when Mukti calls instead with alarming news, Myra has slipped out of the hostel, giving everyone a different excuse, and has gone to find Arman. Abhira is immediately caught in a bind. If she tells Arman, she will have to reveal how she knows about Mukti. She asks Mukti to call Myra’s father. Mukti says she does not have the number. Abhira tells her she has it, taken from the principal. Mukti asks how. Abhira deflects the question and tells Madhav that Myra is missing.She needs Arman’s phone and goes to get it, only to find Vidya has it. Abhira takes it anyway. Vidya protests. Abhira tells her plainly that a call from Myra’s hostel is coming, and she needs to be ready. When Arman gets the call, Vidya tries to stop Abhira from following him. Abhira tells her she has every right to care about Arman and Myra. Madhav steps in and asks Vidya to focus on Myra rather than going after Abhira.
Myra makes her decision
Arman finds Myra on the road and scolds her for disappearing without telling anyone, telling her Abhira was worried. Myra is stunned by his words, not because she is hurt, but because she sees how much Arman is now defined by his concern for Abhira. She tells him he has changed, that he is only worried because of Abhira, and decides in that moment to remove herself from both their lives. Back at the venue, Abhira cannot stop herself from worrying and decides to go and check on the situation herself.Precap: Abhira asks Arman if he found Myra. Arman tells her Myra is pulling away from him and that he is suffocating at the thought of losing her. He asks Abhira to bring Myra back because he cannot live without her. Abhira hugs him.
