‘Mardaani 3’ heads to OTT

An OTT platform will drop ‘Mardaani 3’ for streaming on March 27. On Thursday, the official Netflix India social media account shared the update with a film still of Rani, captioned: “Criminals ke bure din shuru. Sherni aa rahi hai shikaar karne (Bad days have begun for criminals). The tigress will come to hunt. Watch Mardaani 3, out 27 March, on Netflix.”

‘Mardaani 3’ fan reactions

Upon release, ‘Mardaani 3’ drew mixed reactions; lovers showered it with heart emojis. “Have got my weekend watch, kudos Netflix,” one fan commented. “Great,” said another, adding thumbs-up emojis. Detractors felt it fell short of prior entries. “Mid-sequel, seriously, nothing new to offer, just that same kind of social message, repetitive, completely became average due to the underwhelming second half completely,” an Instagram user griped. “Pehle Al Pacino ki movies add karle (First add Al Pacino’s movies),” tweeted someone on X (formerly Twitter). “Why am I seeking Priyanka Mohan’s face here?” quipped another, poking fun that Rani looked like Priyanka on the poster.

Rani Mukerji’s ‘Mardaani 3’ plot and cast

Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, ‘Mardaani 3’ serves as the sequel to 2019’s ‘Mardaani 2.’ Joining Rani are newcomers Janki Bodiwala and Mallika Prasad. The plot centers on cop Shivani Shivaji Roy investigating the eerie vanishing of 93 young girls within a mere three months.

‘Mardaani 3’ box office

‘Mardaani 3’ arrived in theaters on January 30, earning Rs 76.20 crore worldwide as per Sacnilk. ‘Mardaani 2’ grossed Rs 67 crore globally, and the inaugural Mardaani from 2014 hauled in Rs 59.30 crore. It faced mixed reviews on debut, criticized for lacking the edge of its predecessors.
