The day 1 advance booking for ‘Mankatha’ has been nothing short of massive. In Tamil Nadu, the film has already crossed Rs 2.00 crore in pre-sales for the opening day through tracked cinemas as reported by Cinetrak. This puts ‘Mankatha’ in a very special list of top re-releases.The film is now very close to the final pre-sales record of Vijay’s ‘Ghilli’ which stands at Rs 2.15 crore.
Bengaluru joins the celebration
The excitement is not just limited to Tamil Nadu. Bengaluru is also seeing a strong wave for Venkat Prabhu‘s film. The film has already collected over Rs 13.75 lakh in advance booking in the city according to Karnataka Talkies. This number has crossed the pre-sales of Rajinikanth’s ‘Padayappa’ which stood at Rs 12.65 lakh at the same stage.The current trend suggests that ‘Mankatha’ is now aiming for the Bengaluru re-release record of Rs 16 lakh. If it reaches that number it will become the highest pre-booked Tamil re-release in the city.
