Kerala TET 2026 notification for February: The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan has issued the Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test notification for the February 2026 cycle on its official portal. The examination will be conducted at the state level in offline mode for candidates seeking eligibility to teach in schools across Kerala.Online registration will commence on February 26, 2026, and conclude on March 7, 2026. Applicants must complete the process within the stipulated window and retain a printed copy of the submitted form by March 13, 2026. The examination date will be notified separately.Application schedule and fee detailsThe application fee is Rs 500 for general candidates. Applicants belonging to SC, ST and PH categories are required to pay Rs 250. Fee payment must be completed within the application deadline.Important dates

There is no age limit prescribed for the test. Candidates are also not restricted in the number of attempts. However, eligibility conditions differ according to the category selected during registration. Once the category is chosen, it cannot be altered after the registration process closes.Examination structure and marking schemeThe test will be conducted in pen-and-paper format for a duration of two hours and 30 minutes. Each paper will carry 150 multiple-choice questions for a total of 150 marks. The examination is held twice every year.The syllabus and pattern for each category are available in the official notification. Candidates are advised to review the prescribed structure before beginning preparation.Category-wise eligibility frameworkCategory I covers Lower Primary classes, while Category II is meant for Upper Primary classes. Category III applies to High School classes. Category IV is intended for Language Teachers and Specialist Teachers, including Physical Education.Educational qualifications vary across categories, ranging from Higher Secondary with teacher training certifications to Bachelor’s degrees with B.Ed. or equivalent qualifications. Specific subject requirements apply for Category III, including provisions for MScEd in select disciplines. Relaxation of qualifying marks is available: five per cent for SC, ST and differently abled candidates, and three per cent for OBC and OEC candidates.
