Kia Sonet new diesel AT variants explained: Price, features & more

Kia India has just launched more affordable diesel automatic variants of the Kia Sonet. Prices for the diesel-automatic variants of the Kia Sonet now start at Rs 9.77 lakh (ex-showroom), making the range up to Rs 2.25 lakh more affordable than before. This move comes shortly after Hyundai Venue introduced a more affordable diesel-automatic variant. Interested customers can book it online or visit their nearest dealership. Deliveries are expected to begin soon. Until now, the diesel engine paired with an automatic gearbox was available only on the HTX and GTX+ trims of the Kia Sonet. Now it’s offered in four variants – HTE (O), HTK(O), HTK+ and HTK+(O). In this article, let’s take a look at variant-wise features with prices of new diesel automatic variants. Kia Sonet diesel ATHTE(O)Rs 9.77 lakh (ex-showroom)Talking about the features in the HTE(O) variant, it gets an electric sunroof, sun glass holder, manually adjustable ORVMs, a semi-digital instrument cluster, front power windows, manual AC with rear vents, 15-inch steel wheels, rear parking sensors, six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, hill ascent control and more. Kia Sonet diesel ATHTK(O)10.72 lakh (ex-showroom)The HTK(O) variant additionally gets connected LED taillights, automatic climate control AC, rear defogger, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear power windows, follow me home headlamps, rear sun blinds, keyless entry, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker audio setup (four speakers and two tweeters), connected car technology, and a rear-view camera with guidelines and more.

Kia Sonet diesel ATHTK Plus11.08 lakh (ex-showroom)Next comes the HTK Plus, which offers features such as LED daytime running lamps, LED fog lamps, driver window one-touch auto up/down, remote engine start, push-button start, electrically folding ORVMs, and more. Kia Sonet diesel ATHTK Plus (O)11.56 lakh (ex-showroom).The HTK Plus (O) gets all the features mentioned above, additionally, it gets dashcam with dual cameras, crown jewel LED headlamps with DRLs, ice cube fog lamps, indigo pets leatherette seats, 60:40 split rear seats and more. The Kia Sonet diesel automatic is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, CRDI turbo diesel with 115 hp power and 250 nm torque and comes paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. There’s also a 6-speed manual gearbox as an option. The other two engine options include a 1.2-litre NA prior with 82 hp and 115 nm, paired only with a manual gearbox. There’s also a 1.0-litre turbo petrol with 118 hp and 172 nm torque, gearbox options include an iMT or a DCT.
