The NFL offseason is in full swing, and following a rare and frustrating 6–11 season in 2025, the Kansas City Chiefs are wasting no time looking for ways to return to their championship form. According to a new report from ESPN’s Nate Taylor, the Chiefs have emerged as a “possible destination” for legendary defensive end and free agent Cameron Jordan.

The buzz surrounding the 8-time Pro Bowler intensified this week after a cryptic, two-word post from Chiefs star defensive tackle Chris Jones simply read: “Cam Jordan.” While fans initially took it as a playful pitch, Taylor’s report confirms that there is legitimate substance to the idea of Jordan donning the red and gold in 2026.The 2025 season was a wake-up call for the Chiefs Kingdom. For the first time in over a decade, Kansas City missed the playoffs, hampered by a defense that struggled to generate consistent pressure following several key departures. With cornerback Trent McDuffie traded to the Rams and other secondary pieces leaving in free agency, general manager Brett Veach has turned his attention to the “front four.”Adding Cameron Jordan would provide an immediate boost. Despite being 36 years old, the 15-year veteran proved last season with the New Orleans Saints that he still has plenty of “gas in the tank,” recording 10.5 sacks and 15 quarterback hits. Pairing Jordan on the opposite side of rising star George Karlaftis could create one of the most formidable pass-rushing duos in the AFC.Jordan has spent his entire career in New Orleans, but with the Saints shifting toward a youth movement, the future Hall of Famer is reportedly looking for a situation where he is “valued” and has a real shot at another Super Bowl.While the Chiefs entered the week with roughly $10 million in salary cap space, signing a player of Jordan’s caliber would require some financial maneuvering. Projections suggest Jordan could command a one-year deal worth around $8 million. Nate Taylor notes that the Chiefs could easily create the necessary room by restructuring the contracts of Chris Jones or center Creed Humphrey.While the Chiefs are also expected to look at the defensive end position in the upcoming NFL Draft with rumors linking them to Miami’s Rueben Bain Jr., the lure of a “win-now” veteran like Jordan might be too good for Andy Reid to pass up.
