Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has launched its prospectus for the academic session 2026–27, providing detailed guidance for admissions across undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and advanced diploma programs. The 150-page document was released today by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mazhar Asif, along with the Registrar, Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, and the Controller of Examinations (CoE), Prof. Ahteshamul Haque.The prospectus outlines eligibility criteria, application procedures, entrance examinations, admit cards, syllabi, test centres, fee structures, and timelines for result declarations. Online admissions for all programs open today through the official JMI portal.Thirty new programs introduced with no fee increaseThe CoE, Prof. Haque, confirmed that JMI has introduced 30 new programs for the upcoming session. New offerings include B.A. (Hons) Japanese Studies, B.A. (Hons) German Studies, B.A. (Hons) Uzbek Language, Literature & Culture, B.A. (Hons) Human Resource Management, Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling, M.Sc. programs in Biosciences, Biotechnology, Botany, Biophysics, M.Tech in Material Science & Technology, B.Tech. in Robotics & Artificial Intelligence, and Civil Engineering (Construction Technology), along with LLM programs in Criminal, Corporate, and Personal Law. Certificate courses in painting and calligraphy, B.Voc. in Molecular Diagnostics, and Master of Hotel Management have also been added.Significantly, there has been no increase in fees for any course in 2026–27. Admissions under the Multiple Entry Mode for Four-Year Undergraduate Programs (FYUP) will begin this session, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, providing greater flexibility for students.Expanded test centres and international fee reductionTo enhance accessibility, JMI has increased its entrance test centres from eight to eleven, adding Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj. Existing centres include Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal.The university has also revised fees for foreign students, introducing region-wise differentials for students from SAARC countries, West Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Online applications for programs with entrance tests are open until March 25, 2026, while admissions for programs based on JEE Mains, NATA, NEET for BPT, NCET, and CUET will remain open for 10 days after results are declared. FYUP program applications for vacant seats are open until April 10, 2026.Prof. Asif and Prof. Rizvi highlighted the university’s efforts to expand academic opportunities, maintain rigorous standards, and facilitate nationwide and international access.
