JAIPUR: Acting swiftly in the alleged harassment of a Japanese tourist near Jaigarh Fort, city police on Tuesday arrested one accused and detained a minor, while launching a manhunt for three others who remain at large. The incident occurred on Sunday around 8 am when the tourist, who had arrived in Rajasthan a few days earlier, was walking along a relatively deserted stretch near Jaigarh Palace in Amber. Police said five youths intercepted her, misbehaved and outraged her modesty before she raised an alarm and managed to flee towards a nearby security guard, who alerted the police. The accused fled the spot. Additional DCP (North) Neeraj Pathak said, “We have arrested one person identified as Ameenudhin (24), a resident of Ramganj police station area, in this connection and detained a minor. Our teams are conducting raids to make arrests of the remaining three accused.” A case under relevant sections of the BNS has been registered at Amber police station against all five accused. Police said over 50 CCTV footages from the area and surrounding routes have been scanned, and technical surveillance is being used to track the absconding suspects.
