Inside India Art Fair 2026: Korean art takes the spotlight with unique artwork

Come February and New Delhi transforms into a living and breathing hub of contemporary global art and artists. Currently, the 17th edition of the India Art Fair (IAF) 2026, is being hosted at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds. From 5 to 8 February, the place will be buzzing with artists, art-lovers, collectors and curators. Navigating aisles, these are not just artworks but snaps from history, and cultural conversations. This year’s fair feels particularly attuned to cross-cultural collaborations. Among the many pavilions, the K-Art Pavilion presented by the Korean Cultural Centre India, titled “Resonances of Light” is drawing attention of all for all the right reasons. A quiet yet powerful presence of K-ArtThe K-Art Pavilion marks the sixth consecutive participation at the fair, presented in collaboration with Keumsan Gallery, one of South Korea’s prominent contemporary art galleries. It was inaugurated in the presence of H.E. Lee Seong Ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, and Dr. Sanjeev Kishor Goutam, Director General of the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA).

Talking about the deep bond of India and Korea, the ambassador noted, “Korea and India share a deep and expanding Special Strategic Partnership in which art and culture play a vital role. Cultural exchanges between our countries have enhanced mutual understanding and strengthened the friendship between our peoples. It is in this spirit, the Korean Cultural Centre in India is proud to participate in the India Art Fair.”Resonances of Light

The 13 artwork here is curated under the theme “Resonances of Light” by four Korean artists: Eunjin Kim, Yongrae Kwon, SINN (Jineon Kim), and Sungyong Hong. The artists used a range of materials to create these pieces such as mother-of-pearl and lacquer alongside industrial surfaces like stainless steel and aluminium. The artworks are unique and beautiful and together shape an environment where reflection takes the centre stage.

Hwang Il Yong, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre India, observed, “The Korean Wave, which began with K-pop and K-dramas, is now expanding into the field of visual arts. By presenting Korean contemporary art on India’s largest art platform, we hope this initiative will also help broaden opportunities for private Korean galleries to engage with overseas markets in the future.”Other must-visit pavilions at India Art Fair 2026

The fair features 133 exhibitors with leading Indian galleries and international artists participation. There are museum booths and dedicated sections for photography, and budding artists too. Some of the major international galleries include David Zwirner Gallery and prominent Indian galleries include Emami Art, Akar Prakar, and Gallery Dotwalk, among others.
