We had told you that the shoot of Vetri Maaran’s Arasan , starring Silambarasan TR, has been halted due to a dispute between the actor and producer Ishari K Ganesh.While STR, reportedly, was willing to return the ₹5 crore that he received as an advance for Corona Kumar , which was to be bankrolled by Ishari Ganesh, the producer sought ₹7.5 crore, citing losses that he incurred on pre-production.On Tuesday, the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), Arasan ’s producer Kalaippuli S Thanu, and Ishari Ganesh came to an agreement that STR has to pay ₹7.5 crore for the shoot of Arasan to resume.
Ishari refutes TR’s claim; says Thanu will now pay amount on behalf of STRTalking to us, Ishari K Ganesh shared, “I had a meeting with FEFSI and Thanu sir, who has agreed to pay the amount on behalf of Simbu.” He added, “The same situation happened to me. On the first day of the shoot of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu , a few producers raised issues regarding Simbu, and we were able to continue the shoot only after I cleared his dues.” Responding to STR’s dad and actor T Rajhendherr’s claim that the court had ruled in favour of his son in this dispute, he clarified, “He didn’t win the case. Instead, it was me who withdrew the case.”‘Actors should stick to ‘first come, first served’ approach’FEFSI president RK Selvamani told us, “As per the decision we arrived at on Tuesday, TFPC will speak with Nadigar Sangam, and Simbu will be part of the discussions (on Wednesday).”

Highlighting larger concerns, he stated that actors must adhere to a ‘first come, first served’ approach when it comes to film projects. He added, “Also, a film should go on floors only after a written agreement is in place. If people do as they please, then a film goes over budget, and issues arise during its release. It’d be better if there were a system. We are calling ourselves an industry, but there are no terms being made.”
