The Indian Postal Department has released online applications for 28,636 posts through the India Post GDS Recruitment 2026. Today, February 14, 2026, is the final date for applicants to finish the online registration process for the January 2026 cycle. The recruitment process is being carried out for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS), Branch Postmaster (BPM), and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) posts.The India Post GDS Notification 2026 was released on January 31, 2026. The online application process started on February 2, 2026, and will end on February 16, 2026. Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria can fill their application forms through the official website before the deadline.Important dates and application scheduleAccording to the official dates, the registration process started on January 31, 2026, and will continue until February 14, 2026. The application form submission process started on February 2, 2026, and will end on February 16, 2026. Applicants will be able to edit their submitted application forms on February 18 and February 19, 2026. The result date will be announced later.Details of vacancies and eligibility criteriaThere are a total of 28,636 vacancies for the post of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS). The recruitment also includes BPM and ABPM posts. The posts are advertised on a state-wise basis.The candidates must have passed Class 10 to be eligible for the recruitment. The selection will be done purely on the basis of the marks scored in Class 10. There will be no written test for this recruitment.The minimum age required is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 40 years as of January 1, 2026. The age limit is relaxed as per government norms. Application fee and selection procedureThe application fee is Rs 100 for candidates belonging to General, OBC, and EWS categories. The application fee is exempted for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Female categories. PH and PWD candidates are also exempted from paying the fee. The fee payment is done online.The selection procedure includes shortlisting on the basis of Class 10 marks, followed by document verification and a medical test.The candidates can apply online through the official website of India Post.
