The Haryana Staff Selection Commission has extended the last date to apply for the Haryana Police Constable recruitment for 5,500 posts. The decision comes with a one time age relaxation for eligible candidates across all categories, providing relief to aspirants who were earlier outside the prescribed age limits.According to the official public notice issued by the commission, the online application window for the ongoing recruitment will now remain open until January 31, 2026, up to 11:59 PM. The commission has clarified that no further extension will be granted under any circumstances.Official notice on age relaxation and date extensionThe recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. 1/2026, published on January 1, 2026, through the official online registration portal. The notice covers Male Constable (GD), Female Constable (GD) and Male Constable (Government Railway Police) posts.As per Memo No. 30/3/2026-5HG-1 dated January 19, 2026, the Haryana Government has granted a one time relaxation of three years beyond the prescribed upper age limit. This relaxation applies uniformly to candidates of all categories mentioned in the advertisement. The commission reiterated that the extension of the application deadline is final.Vacancy details and eligibility criteriaThe recruitment drive aims to fill 5,500 Constable posts in total. This includes 4,500 posts for Male Constable (GD), 600 posts for Female Constable (GD) and 400 posts for Male Constable (Government Railway Police). All posts require that the candidates must have cleared Class 12, along with the HSSC CET exam.The age limits for recruitment are between 18-28 years, computed as on January 1, 2026. Relaxation in age is allowed up to a maximum as per the rules, in addition to the one-time relaxation already in force.Application process and important datesThe online application form filling commenced on January 11, 2026. Interested candidates can apply by filling the online form until January 31, 2026. The commission has maintained that applications will not be accepted after the deadline.

No application fee is charged for any category, including General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST and PWD candidates. Payments, where applicable, are to be made online only.Selection process and examination patternThe selection process includes a physical test, written examination, document verification and medical examination. The written exam will be conducted for a duration of one hour and thirty minutes, with no negative marking.Question paper will consist of General Knowledge, Science, Current Affairs, Reasoning, Mathematics, Computer Knowledge, and Haryana General Knowledge. The weightage is given for those with an NCC certificate. The physical requirements and running standards will also differ for different categories and genders, as specified in the notification.
