Gulf Air announces special flights from Dammam to London, Mumbai, Bangkok; economy fares start at INR 61,315

Gulf Air has opened passenger registration for a limited number of special flights operating from Saudi Arabia’s Dammam as the temporary closure of Bahrain’s airspace continues to disrupt normal operations. In an update shared with travellers, the Bahraini national carrier said it will operate daily return flights from King Fahad International Airport in Dammam starting March 11, 2026, connecting passengers to London, Mumbai, and Bangkok. The flights are intended to support travellers who need to return home during the ongoing airspace restrictions.

The airline said the special services are part of efforts to assist passengers affected by the disruption. Instead of operating from Bahrain, the flights will depart from nearby Dammam in Saudi Arabia, allowing Gulf Air to continue limited international connectivity.Passengers who wish to travel on these flights must first register through the airline’s passenger registration form, after which a sales agent will contact them to confirm booking details. Gulf Air has also advised travellers not to proceed to the airport until their booking has been confirmed.

Flights from Dammam to London

Gulf Air will operate flight GF2003 from Dammam to London Heathrow, departing at 10:20. The return service, flight GF2006, will depart London Heathrow at 22:30 and arrive in Dammam.Economy class fares for the Dammam–London flight are listed at BHD 345, while Falcon Gold (business class) tickets are priced at BHD 1,245. For passengers booking from the UK side, fares start at GBP 587 in economy and GBP 2,022 in Falcon Gold.

Flights from Dammam to Mumbai

For travellers heading to India, Gulf Air will operate flight GF2056 from Dammam to Mumbai, departing at 09:30. The return flight GF2057 will depart Mumbai at 17:40.Economy fares on the Dammam–Mumbai route start at BHD 245, while Falcon Gold tickets are priced at BHD 515. Tickets originating from Mumbai are listed at INR 61,315 in economy and INR 111,038 in Falcon Gold. Flights from Dammam to Bangkok

The airline will also operate services to Thailand. Flight GF2152 will depart Dammam at 09:30 for Bangkok, while the return flight GF2153 will depart Bangkok at 05:00.Economy tickets for the route start at BHD 295, with Falcon Gold fares at BHD 1,045. Registration required before booking

Gulf Air said these flights are available only for passengers who meet eligibility requirements and have successfully registered their details. Once registered, travellers will be contacted by the airline’s sales team to complete the booking.The airline emphasised that passengers should not travel to the airport without confirmation, as seats are limited and flights are being arranged to prioritise those needing urgent travel.“We appreciate your patience during this time and remain committed to getting you home to your families,” the airline said in its message to passengers.The special services come as airlines across the region adjust operations due to the temporary closure of Bahrain’s airspace, forcing carriers to reroute or relocate certain flights while authorities monitor the evolving regional situation.
