Michael Patrick’s wife pays tribute

As per the latest reports, news of his demise was confirmed by his wife, Naomi Sheehan, who shared an emotional tribute on Instagram on Wednesday. Sharing a photo from their wedding day, Naomi wrote, “Last night, Mick sadly passed away in the Northern Ireland Hospice. He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease 1st February 2023. He was admitted 10 days ago and was cared for by the incredible team there. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family and friends.“In an emotional tribute, she wrote, “Words can’t describe how broken-hearted we are. It’s been said more than once that Mick was an inspiration to everyone who was privileged enough to come into contact with him, not just in the past few years during his illness but in every day of his life. He lived a life as full as any human can live. Joy, abundance of spirit, infectious laughter. A titan of a ginger-haired man. We are so grateful for every person who supported us through the last few years.““Mick loved this quote from Brendan Behan and this feels appropriate now: ‘The most important things to do in the world are to get something to eat, something to drink and somebody to love you.’ So, don’t overthink it. Eat. Drink. Love,” she concluded.

Michael Patrick’s friends raise funds for tracheostomy treatment

In November 2025, his friend got together to start a Go Fund Me page to support his care and medical needs post a tracheostomy. The post read, “To give him the best chance of benefiting from this breakthrough, Michael’s doctors recommend a tracheostomy. This is a small tube in the front of his neck that will help him breathe with his weakened muscles and allow him to continue to survive. This is the easy bit, if you can believe it. The hard part is that a tracheostomy comes with new and very specialist care needs. His doctors advise that, especially in the early stages, he will need continuous, skilled support to keep his airway safe and to help him adapt to this major change.”The cost was estimated to be around GBP 100,000 to help support Michael’s new care needs. The campaign was successful, with his family raising over GBP 110,487. In addition to his role in ‘Game of Thrones’, Patrick appeared in several television projects, including ‘Blue Lights’ and ‘This Town’.
