The much-awaited Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is all set to hit theatres this Thursday, and despite premiere delays and cancellations in some regions, the first reviews are already pouring in—and they are overwhelmingly positive.Starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, the sequel is being hailed as a potential blockbuster, with early reactions suggesting it could be one of Bollywood’s biggest hits in recent times.

Taran Adarsh calls it ‘masterpiece’, predicts ‘epic blockbuster’

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh was all praise for the film, calling it a “MASTERPIECE” and rating it 4.5 stars.“#Dhurandhar2 is CINEMA AT ITS BEST… Delivers on every front – scale, drama, emotions, action, performances and impact… Take a bow, #AdityaDhar – sure-shot EPIC BLOCKBUSTER,” he wrote. He further added that while expectations were sky-high after the first film, the sequel not only meets them but “surpasses them by leaps and bounds.”Praising Aditya Dhar’s vision, he noted that the film elevates the narrative with a stronger emotional core, backed by a tight screenplay and goosebump-inducing moments. He also singled out the climax as “explosive, emotional and immensely satisfying,” while calling Ranveer Singh’s performance “the backbone, soul and lifeline” of the sequel—and “easily the best of his career.”

Sumit Kadel: ‘Industry-shaking phenomenon’

Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel echoed similar sentiments, describing the film as a “game-changing, industry-shaking phenomenon” and rating it 4.5 stars.“#Dhurandhar2 doesn’t just meet expectations, it surpasses them by a huge margin… Bigger, better, and far more engaging than Part 1,” he wrote. He highlighted the film’s nearly four-hour runtime, stating that it “doesn’t give the audience a single dull moment,” with a screenplay that moves at lightning pace.Kadel also praised the deeper exploration of the protagonist’s backstory, the intense action sequences, and the film’s technical brilliance, calling it “among the top 10 films in Indian cinema.”

Fans call it ‘blockbuster’, ‘never-witnessed-before ride’

Audience reactions on social media have also been largely enthusiastic. One user wrote, “The crowd says it’s a blockbuster… it looks like they were waiting for this movie for a long time. It’s definitely 5/5.”Another viewer shared, “#Dhurandhar2 is more nationalistic, explosive and gripping than the first part… It takes you on a never-witnessed-before roller-coaster ride. Sure-shot all-time blockbuster.”Many also predicted that the film could cross the Rs 1000 crore mark at the Indian box office. Also See: Dhurandhar 2 Movie Review and Release Live Updates

Premiere delays fail to dent buzz, massive release planned across India

Interestingly, the glowing reviews come despite several hiccups during the film’s rollout. Paid previews in multiple regions were delayed, while Kannada and Malayalam dubbed premieres were cancelled due to technical issues. However, the disruptions appear to have done little to dampen excitement around the film. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy action thriller features an ensemble cast including R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. The film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with festive occasions like Eid, Gudi Padwa, and Ugadi. In line with its pan-India scale, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will release in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam—setting the stage for a massive box office opening.
