CUET UG 2026: NTA issues important advisory over photo mismatch, candidates asked to verify details

CUET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory for candidates appearing in the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG 2026). The notice was released today, April 7, 2026, regarding mismatch of photographs submitted with identity proof documents.

Photo mismatch detected in some applications

The NTA has said that after reviewing application data, it found that some candidates who used identity documents other than Aadhaar Card had mismatched photographs. In such cases, the live photographs captured during the application process did not match with the photographs available in records with the Unique Identification Authority of India. To address this issue, NTA has provided an opportunity for affected candidates to verify their identity. These candidates must upload a signed and attested certificate along with a recent photograph. The photograph must be certified by the candidate’s school or college principal or headmaster.

Alternative verification options

If candidates are unable to obtain verification from their institution, they can also submit an attestation from a Gazetted Officer, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), or Member of Parliament (MP).

Deadline to submit documents

The correction facility will remain available from April 7, 2026, to April 10, 2026, until 10:00 PM. Candidates must complete the process within the given deadline. The certificate must be uploaded as a single PDF file through the official correction link provided by NTA, according to the official notice released today.Candidates are advised to complete the verification process carefully to avoid any issues during the examination. NTA also asked students to regularly check the official website for updates. For further assistance, candidates can contact the NTA Help Desk at 011-40759000 or send an email to the official support email address. The advisory has been issued to ensure a smooth examination process and to avoid any identity-related issues on exam day.
