Lucknow: Sitapur Police cracked a sensational kidnapping case within hours, rescuing the abducted victim and arresting five accused involved in the crime.Police said that on Apr 8, Sitapur’s Kotwali Nagar police station received information that Imran, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Ansari and a resident of Kazipura South in Bahraich, had been abducted by unidentified persons.SP Ankur Agarwal formed multiple teams and ordered a district-wide cordon operation.Circle officer (City), Vinayak Bhosale led a joint team of SWAT and Kotwali Nagar police, which tracked the accused using technical surveillance.On Apr 9, the police raided an area near the old stage inside RMP ground in Sitapur and rescued the abducted man from captivity. Five accused were arrested from the spot.The arrested accused have been identified as Mohit Mishra, Nagendra Mishra, Manish Goswami, Akhilesh Kashyap and Rikki Mishra.Bhosale told TOI that during interrogation, the accused confessed that they had kidnapped Imran from Lucknow and brought him to Sitapur in a car. They had tied his hands and legs to prevent escape.“The gang had demanded a ransom of Rs5 lakh from the victim’s family for his release. Police also confirmed that the vehicle used in the crime was registered in the name of accused Mohit Mishra’s father,” said the officer.
