The first glimpse of ‘Cocktail 2’ surfaced online after screening during paid previews of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge,’ giving audiences an early look at Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming film. The teaser, which doubles as a song preview for ‘Jab Talak,’ sparked mixed reactions; viewers praised the visuals and cast but questioned the music.

According to early viewer responses reported by the Hindustan Times, the teaser introduces the lead trio in a beach party setting, featuring dance sequences and vibrant visuals that echo the mood of ‘Cocktail’ (2012). Many viewers compared it to the original film’s track ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu.’ One reaction read, “Bollywood vibe that I crave for,” while another shared, “Bro this is so fresh.”
Viewers also pointed to the cast’s screen presence. Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna drew attention for their looks, while Shahid Kapoor’s dance moves stood out in several reactions. At the same time, the song itself faced criticism. One viewer wrote, “Music sucks. Hopefully there are better songs in the movie,” while another noted, “The teaser is best watched in mute.”
‘Cocktail 2’ cast, expectations and X reactions
The film, directed by Homi Adajania, serves as a follow-up to the earlier ‘Cocktail,’ which featured Deepika Padukone, Diana Penty and Saif Ali Khan. One viewer asked, “Are people still watching movies like this in bollywood?” Another wrote, “Shahid is still doing these Chapri dances in 2026… All his peers are doing mature roles with content driven movies !!.. He should focus on making reels only !!” Some compared the teaser to advertising, with one comment reading, “Why does it look like a Tuborg soda ad…” while another called it a “Run of the mill stuff!”Speaking to Zoom earlier, Kriti Sanon shared her take on the project. “I think I’m looking so different from what I have ever looked, which I’m very excited about and it’s also very fresh,” she said, adding that the film presents “modern equations and relationships” and that she “had a blast shooting with Shahid and Rashmika.”
