Centre committed to inclusive growth of minorities: Rijiju
During a recent engagement in Nalanda, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju spotlighted the importance of fostering inclusive growth for minority communities. He introduced transformative tools like the PMJVK monitoring app and enhanced digital services for Haj pilgrimage. Rijiju articulated the vision for a prosperous India by 2047, emphasizing that progress must encompass all demographics.

Patna: Union minority affairs minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday said the Centre is committed to ensuring inclusive and grassroots development of minority communities, stressing that true “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” lies in bringing every section of society into the mainstream.He was speaking at a two-day Chintan Shivir (brain storming camp) at Nalanda University, where he also launched several initiatives, including the PMJVK monitoring app and new Haj-related digital services.Earlier in the day, the minister launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) monitoring app, aimed at bridging infrastructural gaps across the country. The app will enable direct monitoring of various development schemes being implemented under PMJVK. Rijiju said the goal of a developed India by 2047 cannot be achieved without the upliftment of minority communities.He also launched the Haj Wrist Band, Haj Suvidha app and AI chatbots of the ministry in the presence of MoS for minority affairs George Kurian and ministers from various states, including Bihar’s Zama Khan.Rijiju described Nalanda as a symbol of India’s ancient civilizational heritage and a prominent centre of excellence. He said the deliberations would help streamline Centre-state coordination, enhance stakeholder participation and ensure effective implementation of schemes at the grassroots.Addressing participants, Kurian said the PMJVK scheme is instrumental in achieving the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat, contributing significantly to infrastructure development in minority-dominated areas.Chandra Shekhar Kumar, the department’s secretary, appreciated the state govt and Nalanda officials for successfully organising the camp.Those who attended the event included Imkong Mar, MLA and advisor to the sericulture and minority affairs department of Nagaland; Kento Jini, minister of sports and youth affairs, Arunachal Pradesh; Samdup Lepcha, minister of social welfare, Sikkim; and Sukla Charan Noatia, minister of cooperation and tribal welfare (TRP & PTG), Tripura.Later, Rijiju visited the Rajgir Zoo Safari, calling it “a refreshing experience witnessing wildlife up close and appreciating the incredible biodiversity that Bihar proudly nurtures.” He said such moments highlight the importance of preserving natural heritage for future generations.
