After Colin and Penelope’s successful run last season, this time around, the focus was on star-crossed lovers whom society cannot allow to be together.Benedict meets Sophie, a mysterious woman, at a masquerade ball held by his mother. Intrigued by her tactics and personality, most of the first half of season 4 is spent earnestly as he searches for her. Meanwhile, Sophie, a lowly maid in her own dead father’s house, is trying to grapple with the fact that she had freedom for one night. Their paths cross again and again until the latest episodes, where she ends up working in his mother’s home as one of the househelps.The second part will pick up after Benedict and Sophie kiss in the hallways of Bridgerton House’s servant quarters, and the former asks her to be his mistress.
