Blake Lively has called upon her husband, Ryan Reynolds, as a pivotal witness in her high-stakes lawsuit against Justin Baldoni. The actress claims that Baldoni perpetuated a detrimental work environment and launched smear tactics amid the promotion of ‘It Ends With Us.

As the legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni continues, the actress has listed her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, as a witness on her behalf in the trial. Lively is seeking millions in damages against filmmaker Baldoni after accusing him of a hostile work environment and smear campaigns during the making and promotion of their film ‘It Ends With Us,’ where they both co-starred, and Baldoni also directed.

According to a People report, Lively has filed the names of the witnesses she wants the jury to hear from before the ‘It Ends With Us’ trial proceedings. The actress has called upon her husband, Ryan Reynolds, to speak about the romance film’s production and promotion, and the alleged retaliation and damages that took place at the hands of Baldoni.

Lively has also named her co-stars, Jenny Slate and Isabela Ferrer, and her older sister, Robyn Lively, on the witness list. The actress is also calling upon people associated with Baldoni, including his former publicist, Stephanie Jones; his former podcast co-host, Liz Plank; and his crisis PR executive, Melissa Nathan, to speak as witnesses.The report also states that many expert witnesses are expected to testify about reputational harm, workplace practices, and social media activities.

What is the legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni about?

The legal battle between the co-stars has been ongoing since December 2024. Lively is seeking financial damages ranging from around USD 142 million to nearly USD 300 million. However, Baldoni has denied the claims against him. The keenly watched May 18 trial is expected to last for around 15 days.
