BJP’s politics is laced with deceit, says Akhilesh
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow: BJP’s politics is laced with deceit because its political character is anti-people, said Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday. The former CM claimed that forged signatures were used in large numbers to get votes deleted during the recent SIR of the electoral rolls and added that despite evidence provided by the SP, the Election Commission did nothing to find out who was behind the conspiracy.EC’s duty and responsibility is to ensure that votes are added, Akhilesh said addressing cadre at party headquarters. But despite SP exposing conspiracy to get valid votes deleted, no probe has been ordered to find out who all were behind it, he said pointing fingers at ECI’s role in the episode. “Why is the EC dormant on the issue,” he asked.“Beware of BJP’s conspiracies. Once the elections in West Bengal conclude, BJP’s focus wills shift to Uttar Pradesh. They will hatch conspiracies to target the opposition. We have to be very careful. In fact for 2027 assembly polls we will have to be more careful than we were in 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” Akhilesh said. He said people have prepared themselves to change govt. They want Samajwadi Party govt. “We have to remain united and work with extreme caution and attention.Taking a jibe at BJP govt announcement of a drive to tackle traffic bottlenecks in all major cities of the state, he said this govt from time to time comes up with announcements, but nothing improves on ground. “They hoodwinked people in the name of Smart Cities. In major cities including the state capital, traffic management has collapsed and traffic jams are a routine,” he said.Akhilesh said in Lucknow, govt spent Rs 700 crore in the name of Green Corridor. “The very design of this corridor is faulty. Police have to be deployed at every intersection. Roads which already existed have been connected with patches of elevated stretches,” he said, adding that project has many loose ends.“The situation is equally bad with the power department. Power consumers are a harassed lot because of anomalies in monthly power bills owing to smart meters.”Underlining the development projects that came up during SP govt like the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, Akhilesh said it was the first of its kind project which introduced the people of the state with the idea of expressways. “The quality certificate of the project was the touch-down by fighter jets on the expressway which made it world class,” he said.
