Bengaluru: Two Vande Bharat trains originating from the city could see major change in timings and operations. In addition, Bengaluru-Kalaburagi VB might get its much-demanded change of terminal from SMVT Bengaluru to KSR Bengaluru.Earlier this month, South Western Railway (SWR) proposed a new timetable and change in terminals for the premium service to Kalaburagi and Belagavi from Bengaluru. The changes have to be cleared by the railway board before they are implemented. As per the proposal, there will be no change in Belagavi VB’s schedule: It will start at 5.35am from Belagavi and reaching the state capital by 1.50pm; the return service will continue to start from Bengaluru at 2.20pm and reach Belagavi by 10.30 pm. However, the train will not operate Thursdays, replacing its earlier maintenance day of Wednesday, as per the proposal. For the service from Kalaburagi, there will be a change in operational timings — the train is expected to start 10 minutes earlier at 6am. It will reach Bengaluru at 1.50pm instead of 2:10 pm. The return service will reach Kalaburagi at 10.40pm after leaving KSR Bengaluru by 2.40pm.The maintenance days for both trains will be different as per the proposal: 22231 Kalaburagi-Bengaluru VB won’t run on Thursdays instead of Fridays and 22232 Bengaluru-Kalaburagi VB will take a break Wednesdays instead of Thursdays.According to SWR, the changes are because of planned shift of train maintenance to Belagavi.
