Bank holidays in March 2026: How many days are banks closed this week? Check state-wise list for Ugadi, Eid-Ul-Fitr & more

Planning a bank visit? You might want to reschedule! Bank customers planning a visit in March 2026 are being advised to check branch holiday schedules, as a four-day bank holiday is approaching. Since banks observe both national and state-specific holidays, closure dates can vary across different regions, making it important to plan ahead to avoid an unnecessary trip.Several branches will remain closed for festival and state-specific observances. In addition, banks will not open on the second and fourth Saturdays of March, following guidelines set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Customers planning large cash deposits, cheque clearances, or other services requiring branch visits should schedule these in advance.

When and where will banks remain closed?

Even though physical branches will be closed, customers can continue routine transactions through digital banking channels, including online banking, ATMs, mobile apps, and UPI services. Fund transfers, bill payments, and other standard operations will remain available. Services that require branch visits, such as cheque clearances, large cash deposits, or demand draft issuance, will not be accessible on these dates. Customers are advised to plan accordingly and use digital banking wherever possible to avoid inconvenience.
