‘Ashakal Aayiram’ continued its theatrical journey with a modest performance on its fourteenth day. The film earned an estimated Rs 17 lakhs India net on Thursday according to early figures from the Sacnilk website. This takes its total domestic collection to Rs 6.26 crore. The Malayalam drama had earlier shown stability through its first thirteen days by accumulating around Rs 6.09 crore before the Day 14 estimates arrived. While the weekday slowdown was expected the dip from its second Wednesday collection of Rs 21 lakhs crore reflects the film’s gradual slow down in terms of box office traction. The second week began with Rs 26 lakhs on Monday which was followed by Rs 27 lakhs on Tuesday before a slight drop on Wednesday.
Occupancy trends show mild evening recovery
The Malayalam (2D) occupancy for Thursday averaged 7.89% across India. The morning and afternoon shows stayed under 7%, with 6.91% and 6.81% respectively. Evening shows saw a slight drop to 6.44%. The most encouraging turnout came during night shows, which recorded 11.40% occupancy.
