Antonio Felix da Costa is on a roll after clinching his first victory with Jaguar TCS Racing in Jeddah. The Portuguese driver went on to lift the winner’s trophy at the maiden Madrid E-Prix on Saturday, securing his second consecutive win this season. Joining him on the podium was his team-mate Mitch Evans, who claimed his third podium of the campaign following a win in Miami and a podium in Jeddah. Current championship leader Pascal Wehrlein also secured his third podium, finishing third at the Circuito del Jarama.

Antonio Felix da Costa storms to Madrid E-Prix win

Antonio Felix Da Costa started from third on the grid after a solid qualifying session and went on to win the maiden race at Jarama. The Madrid E-Prix winner had delight written all over his face as he celebrated his second successive victory of the season. He has now climbed up the standings to fourth place in the Formula E Drivers’ Championship with 64 points, just one point behind runner-up Evans, who sits third.Meanwhile, Porsche driver Wehrlein continues to lead the championship with three podiums and 83 points.Cupra Kiro driver Dan Ticktum narrowly missed out on the podium but secured valuable points with a fourth-place finish, having shown strong pace by topping the opening free practice on Friday. Mahindra Racing’s Edoardo Mortara finished fifth after starting from the same position on the grid and remains second in the standings with 72 points.Envision Racing’s Sebastien Buemi finished sixth, while Andretti Formula E’s Jake Dennis came home seventh. Porsche driver Nico Müller was eighth, Cupra Kiro’s Josep Martí ninth, and Envision Racing’s Joel Eriksson completed the top ten.Polesitter Nick Cassidy, however, finished down the order in 17th after taking his first pole for Citroen Racing. Mahindra Racing’s Nyck De Vries, who had started alongside him from the front row ended up in 18th position and no points.

What made the Madrid E-Prix special

The Pit Boost strategy was introduced at the Madrid E-Prix, a single-header, for the first time, having previously been intended for double-header events. It allows drivers to influence race outcomes through strategic deployment.The Madrid E-Prix will be followed by a Rookie Test at the same circuit on Sunday, with selected rookies, including former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat, set to take part.
