Another MP woman, her lover kill husband; tried to pass it off as robbery

BHIND: A 23-year-old woman in Bhind has been accused of conspiring with her lover to kill her husband, in a case police say was initially staged as a robbery, news agency PTI reported. The incident comes days after a similar crime surfaced in Dhar. Police said the accused, identified as Ruby, and her lover Vishal Vimal (21) are in custody. A third suspect, Rajesh Kushwah, who allegedly assisted in the killing, remains absconding. According to superintendent of police Asit Yadav, the victim, Nilesh Jatav (27), was shot dead on April 8 while riding a motorcycle with his wife and their child. Police were initially told that unidentified robbers had carried out the attack. Ruby claimed that while they were travelling from Jamna to Kharika, her bag fell on the road. She said that when her husband stopped the motorcycle and she went to retrieve it, two men arrived, shot him and fled. A murder case was registered against unknown persons, and an investigation was launched. “During the investigation, the wife’s statements appeared suspicious. Police then questioned her using psychological methods, which led to the case being solved,” the SP said. Police later alleged that the killing had been planned in advance. Ruby was said to have been in a relationship with Vimal, a relative, for nearly seven years, and the two were in regular contact via WhatsApp. Investigators believe the woman saw her husband as an obstacle to the relationship. According to police, she deliberately dropped her bag at a pre-decided location to make her husband stop the motorcycle. At that point, Vimal and another associate allegedly shot him. Officers said they have seized a 12-bore country-made pistol, empty cartridges, a motorcycle without a registration number and mobile phones from the accused. Efforts are under way to locate the absconding suspect. In a similar case reported recently in Dhar district, a woman allegedly plotted her husband’s murder with her lover and hired a contract killer. Police said she too initially attempted to present the killing as a robbery before later confessing during questioning.
