George Clooney as Amitabh Bachchan, Meryl Streep into Jaya Bachchan's shoes, Tom Cruise as Shah Rukh Khan: AI reimagines 'K3G' cast, Karan Johar reacts

Filmmaker Karan Johar recently shared his reaction to an AI-generated video that recasts Hollywood stars as characters from his landmark film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (K3G)’. The clip, which has been circulating on social media, uses artificial intelligence to place internationally celebrated actors into roles made iconic by Bollywood veterans. One of the standout moments in the AI reimagining features Meryl Streep as Nandini Raichand, a character originally played by Jaya Bachchan. Clearly amused and impressed, Karan expressed his long-standing admiration for the actor and joked that technology might finally be making his wish come true.Reposting the video on his Instagram Stories, Karan wrote, “Ok AI! Whatever it takes to get Meryl Streep into any frame of mine!!! I will take it gladly! Virtual is manifesting for me.” The imaginative casting doesn’t stop there. The video also envisions George Clooney stepping into the shoes of Yashvardhan Raichand (played by Amitabh Bachchan), Tom Cruise as Rahul Raichand (originally Shah Rukh Khan), Anne Hathaway as Anjali Sharma (Kajol), Jennifer Lawrence as Naina Kapoor (Rani Mukerji), Margot Robbie as the flamboyant Poo aka Pooja (Kareena Kapoor Khan), and Chris Hemsworth as Rohan Raichand (Hrithik Roshan).Released in 2001, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ tells the story of a wealthy family fractured after its authoritarian patriarch disowns his adopted son for marrying beyond their social standing. The emotional fallout leads to years of estrangement before an eventual reunion. At the time of its release, the film was the most expensive Indian production ever made and went on to become one of the biggest box-office successes in Indian cinema. Over the years, it has achieved cult status, with its characters remaining enduring pop-culture favourites.
