Gold price today: Gold continued to trade in red on Monday, extending losses on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), triggering lower circuit limits as investors rushed to book profits. Gold prices slumped by 6%, shedding nearly Rs 9,700 per 10 grams on MCX. The decline marked the third consecutive day of losses for gold futures, after a strong rally last month, that had taken both metals to record highs. On the futures market, gold futures for delivery on April 2, 2026, weakened, falling Rs 4,252, or 3%, to Rs 1,43,501 per 10 grams.The pressure comes after the yellow metal tumbled in the previous session. MCX silver futures had declined Rs 26,273, or 9%, to settle at Rs 2,65,652 per kilogram, while gold April contracts slipped 3%, or Rs 4,592, to close at Rs 1,47,753 per 10 grams.
