The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to start the registration process for NEET UG 2026 soon on its official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Although the official notification is yet to be released, there are several reports that indicate the application process is likely to start in early February 2026.Aspirants who are interested in taking the entrance exam for undergraduate medical courses are advised to be prepared with their documents and check the official website for updates. NEET UG is the only entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical courses in India. The exam is likely to be conducted in May 2026, as per the previous year’s schedule.

NEET UG Registration likely in February

The exact date of registration has not been announced by NTA yet. But as per previous trends, it is expected that the application form will be out in the first week of February 2026. The registration process will probably continue for four to five weeks.Candidates will have to complete online registration, fill in personal and academic details, upload required documents and pay the application fee. A correction window is also expected after the application deadline. During this period, applicants will be allowed to edit selected details in their form.Students are advised to use only the official website for updates and avoid unofficial links.

Documents and NEET UG application fee details

Before applying, candidates should have the required documents at hand. These documents include the Class 10 certificate for proof of date of birth, Class 12 mark sheet or appearing certificate, passport-sized photograph, signature, thumb impression, and valid ID proof like Aadhaar.Candidates belonging to reserved categories must also upload category certificates, if applicable.The application fee is expected to remain similar to last year. General category candidates may have to pay around Rs 1,700. The fee for OBC and EWS candidates may be around Rs 1,600, while SC, ST and PwD candidates may pay around Rs 1,000. Final details will be confirmed in the official notification.

Exam pattern and schedule

NEET UG 2026 is expected to be conducted in offline mode using pen and paper. The exam duration will likely be three hours. The question paper will include Physics, Chemistry and Biology. A total of 180 questions are expected. Candidates will receive four marks for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.The exam is expected to be conducted in May 2026. The admit cards are expected to be released a few weeks prior to the date of the exam. The candidates are advised to check the official website for the dates.
