One held in Purnia murder case

Patna: Police on Thursday arrested a man and recovered the bike used in the murder of 28-year-old Suraj Bihari, son of corn merchant Jawahar Yadav, in Purnia district. Suraj was shot dead on Jan 27 near Newalal Chowk under the Maranga police station area, allegedly after a dispute over a photo posted on Instagram.

Police have also arrested the bike owner, Vishal Kumar. According to a statement issued by Purnia Police, a team led by deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Mohammad Ali Sabri, along with the SOG and Chita teams of Bihar STF, recovered the weapon and bike used in the crime from Vishal, a resident of Rajendra Vihar under Maranga police station. The statement added, “Police are making all efforts to apprehend all those involved in the murder.”
