During sentencing, Recorder Tim Harrington said the abuse charge was based on no fewer than 10 attacks. He told O’Brien, “I have to sentence you for at least 10 occasions that you r*ped her. This was repeated offending.”In a statement read to the court, the victim described the long-term impact of the abuse. She said, “I don’t sleep for very long, and I’m up at all hours of the night. If I am in a group of more than five people I suffer from anxiety. The impact has been long term and deeply damaging.
