Following the lifting of the social media embargo two weeks ahead of its Valentine’s Day debut, first viewers have lavished praise on the film as a “scorching hot”, “twisted” and emotionally devastating epic, which some are also calling the ‘epitome of YEARNING’.One thing’s for sure, ‘This is not the #WutheringHeights you read in school!’

While the film departs from the classic novel, Margot, in an interview with British Vogue, addressed the buzz around the ‘sexual’ themes of the film. She said, “Everyone’s expecting this to be very, very raunchy. I think people will be surprised.” Not denying that are sexual elements, she said, “it definitely is provocative – but it’s more romantic than provocative.” Robbie described the film as a rare modern epic romance, comparing its emotional impact to films such as The Notebook and The English Patient. “It’s that feeling when your chest swells or it’s like someone’s punched you in the guts and the air leaves your body.” ‘Wuthering Heights’ hits theatres in India on February 13.
