The account previously posted fabricated stories involving streamers, influencers, politicians, and celebrities. The criticism of Empath Chan started on Halloween 2025 when she posted blackface photos and videos that sparked a huge backlash online. One of the posts featured her posing for a mirror selfie with the caption: “The only thing I want for Halloween is EBT.”Another post showed her holding an EBT card alongside the caption: “What should I do with my EBT card before it gets shut down?”The controversy was only heightened when clips emerged of her repeatedly using racial slurs in blackface. She was branded a line-crosser by critics seeking attention but her supporters said her whole internet persona is based around trolling and shock value.At the same time, meme culture kept pushing her name further into online conversations.
