NEW DELHI: A day after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class XII board examination results with the overall pass percentage falling to 85.20% from last year’s 88.39%, several schools across the country announced strong individual performances, with Humanities and Commerce students dominating the top ranks. While the national pass percentage recorded a decline of 3.19 percentage points, many schools continued to produce scores above 95% across streams.This year’s CBSE Class XII results saw girls once again outperform boys, with girls securing a pass percentage of 88.86% against boys’ 82.13%. Even as schools and education experts linked the overall dip to tougher Physics and Mathematics papers and the introduction of On-Screen Marking (OSM), top-performing students from institutions including The Somaiya School, EuroSchool, Billabong High International School and Phoenix Greens School of Learning recorded standout performances in Humanities, Commerce and Science streams.Humanities and Commerce students dominate top scoresAmong the schools that announced their toppers, Humanities students secured some of the highest percentages this year. Kritika Mina from The Somaiya School topped her school with 97.20%, while Nithila S from EuroSchool Whitefield also secured 97.20% in Humanities.At Billabong High International School, Malad, Vihaan Singhal emerged as the school topper with 98.4% in Commerce, one of the highest reported scores among the schools that issued statements following the result declaration.Phoenix Greens School of Learning in Hyderabad reported that 16% of its students scored above 90%, with Borrayagari Sai Siddhartha Reddy topping the school with 96.8% in Science.CBSE Class XII toppers from schools across India

Schools highlight consistency across streamsThe Somaiya School reported strong performances across all three streams, with Kritika Mina emerging as the overall topper at 97.20%. Vedant Thampi topped Commerce with 96.40%, while Vaishnav Vivek led the Science stream with 92.40%.“We are very proud of our Grade XII students for doing so well in their board exams. Their performance is proof that academic excellence comes from holistic development,” said Ms Jyothi Malhotra, Principal, The Somaiya School.EuroSchool campuses in Bengaluru also reported high scores across streams. Avnita Shyam secured 97.0% to emerge as the Science topper and overall topper at EuroSchool North Campus, while M U Bhanudheeraj topped Commerce with 96.2%.At EuroSchool Whitefield, Humanities student Nithila S secured 97.20%, the highest score across the EuroSchool network this year.“The academic support and guidance I received at EuroSchool helped me stay focused and confident,” Nithila S said in a statement released by the school.Billabong High and Phoenix Greens record strong outcomesBillabong High International School, Malad, said its Class XII cohort delivered strong performances across Commerce, Humanities and Science streams. Alongside topper Vihaan Singhal’s 98.4%, Commerce student Kshitij Garg secured 96.4%, while Avani Pagedar topped Humanities with 96%.Principal Ms Kavita Sadanand Panikar said the results reflected “resilience, dedication and academic excellence”.Phoenix Greens School of Learning in Hyderabad also announced strong subject-wise performances, including perfect 100 marks in Informatics Practices and scores of 99 in English Core and Chemistry.“We are immensely proud of our students for their exceptional performance in the CBSE Class 12 examinations,” said Ms Anju Sharma, Principal of Phoenix Greens School of Learning.Schools report strong subject-wise performancesSeveral schools also highlighted high subject scores across disciplines. Phoenix Greens reported scores of 98 in Biology and Psychology and 97 in Physics, Accountancy and Entrepreneurship.Education institutions releasing their result statements also emphasised holistic development, conceptual learning and competency-based preparation as key factors behind the performances this year.The CBSE Class XII result for 2026 was declared on May 13, 2026, with more than 15 lakh students clearing the examination nationwide despite the dip in the overall pass percentage.
