The team of ‘Aakhri Sawal’ held a special screening of the film in New Delhi on Wednesday, May 13. Several cast members and political figures were present at the event. However, before the film could even be released in cinemas, it became a topic of debate on social media, where many people called it “propaganda.” Actor Namashi Chakraborty responded to the criticism, saying people should watch the film first before forming an opinion. The film stars Sanjay Dutt in the main role and is based on the 100-year journey of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). It is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang.
Namashi urges people to watch the film
After the screening, Namashi spoke to the media and addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the film. He made it clear that people should not label the film without seeing it first. “Everyone has their own point of view. But no one should call the film propaganda without watching it. The film teaches how to form your own opinion. It’s not only important to ask questions, but also to listen to answers,” he said.
Actor draws strength from father Mithun Chakraborty ‘s words
The actor also opened up about how he handles criticism and controversy in his life. He revealed that during tough times, he often turns to the words of his father, veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, for guidance. “My father would always tell me that whether it is in films or acting, it should be done with honesty and hard work,” he added.
Star-studded screening draws political presence too
The special screening in Delhi saw a strong turnout from the film’s cast, with actors Sameera Reddy, Tridha Choudhary, and Neetu Chandra among those who showed up for the event. The evening also had a political presence, with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attending alongside several other prominent political figures.
Tridha Choudhary appeals to the youth to watch the film
Tridha Choudhary came out in strong support of the film and encouraged younger audiences to watch it. “I’m speaking on behalf of the youth of India, and the youth need to watch our film. There is a lot that our history has always taught us. It’s better to see it unfold through our films,” she said.
Sameera Reddy praises film’s factual approach
Sameera Reddy also threw her weight behind the project, praising its factual approach and overall execution. “Putting aside all the fun stuff, it’s a very good and well-made entertaining film on facts. It’s not making an opinion for you but just giving out facts,” she added.
‘Aakhri Sawal’ to release on May 15 in four languages
‘Aakhri Sawal’ is set to hit the big screens on May 15, releasing across four languages — Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
