KOLKATA: Former West Bengal chief minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, wearing a lawyer’s court, arrived at the Calcutta high court to appear before chief justice HC Sujoy Pal, in connection with the post-poll violence PIL case on Thursday.She is expected to raise questions on several aspects of the case proceedings.The petition was filed by Shirshanya Bandopadhyay, the son of TMC leader-cum-advocate Kalyan Bandopadhyay.Mamata Banerjee earned her law degree from Jogesh Chandra College of Law in 1982.She also holds Bachelor degrees in Arts (BA), Education (B.Ed) and a Masters degree in Arts (MA).The case involves allegations of assaults on political workers and party offices after the closely contested elections that ended the Trinamool Congress’s 15-year tenure and led to the BJP coming to power in the state.In a post on X, the Trinamool Congress said, “Once again, she has shown what truly sets her apart. She never abandons the people of Bengal in their hour of need.
