The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class XII board examination results for the 2025-26 academic session. The results were announced on May 13, 2026, and made available through the official CBSE website, DigiLocker, UMANG and the National Informatics Centre portals.A total of 17,80,365 students registered for the CBSE Class XII examinations this year, while 17,68,968 appeared for the examinations. Out of them, 15,07,109 students cleared the examination, taking the overall pass percentage to 85.20%. Girls once again recorded a higher pass percentage than boys.Girls outperform boys in Class XII resultsCBSE data showed that girls secured a pass percentage of 88.86%, while boys recorded 82.13%. The board also reported that 1,63,800 candidates were placed in the compartment category this year, accounting for 9.26% of the total appeared candidates. More than 94,000 students score above 90%According to the statistics released by the board, 94,028 students scored 90% and above in the examinations. Among them, 17,113 students secured 95% and above.

CBSE stated that no merit list has been prepared in order to avoid unhealthy competition among students. However, merit certificates will be issued to the top 0.1% students in each subject through DigiLocker.Delhi region records pass percentage above 91%The combined Delhi region recorded a pass percentage of 91.97% in the Class XII examinations. CBSE introduces On Screen Marking for evaluationCBSE introduced On Screen Marking (OSM) for Class XII answer book evaluation this year. The board said the digital evaluation process was aimed at reducing errors related to totalling, posting and uploading of marks.The board stated that the system ensured every answer was evaluated according to the marking scheme while reducing manual intervention during the assessment process. CBSE also said the digital process improved transparency and supported paperless evaluation.Teachers associated with the evaluation process welcomed the introduction of OSM. According to CBSE, teachers highlighted improved accuracy, reduced clerical workload and greater transparency in evaluation through the digital system.Institution-wise performanceAmong different categories of institutions, Kendriya Vidyalayas recorded the highest pass percentage at 98.55%, followed by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas at 98.47%.Institution-wise pass percentage

CBSE informed that students can access their digital academic documents through DigiLocker. Schools have also been provided access to the board’s academic repository, Parinam Manjusha, for downloading students’ digital documents.The board further announced that supplementary examinations for Class XII students will be conducted on July 15, 2026. Candidates placed in the compartment category and those seeking improvement in one subject will be eligible to appear for the examination.
