Hasn’t added much in terms of floater or mid range or off-ball. Still has the vision but labors a bit to push the ball. I’m sure she will still be very good but idk facts are facts,” he wrote. Of course, not all fans were in agreement with Jay’s statement, but again, Clark is one of the best athletes in the league and expectations surrounding her name are always on top.The discussion reflects the expectations surrounding Clark more than anything else. Her arrival changed television ratings, ticket demand, and national attention around the WNBA almost overnight. With that spotlight comes constant evaluation, fair or not.

Clark herself sounded far less concerned after the loss to Dallas. Instead of focusing on criticism, she pointed toward the bigger picture and the long season ahead.“Yeah, I feel good. Started off a little slow, I think, just the anxiety of the first game, you know, trying to work through that,” Clark started. “But overall, I felt good, felt fast out there. Felt like I was literally a couple buckets away from putting together a really, really good game and helping us win, but our offense is obviously not the issue.”She also credited Dallas for its sharp shooting and admitted Indiana still needs more consistency defensively.“We’re going to move forward. A lot to be proud of and a lot to learn from, too, so it was only 1 of 44. We’ve got a long way to go.”Despite the loss, Clark described the atmosphere as “positive,” a sign that Indiana believes this group still has room to grow as the season unfolds.
