'May Tamil Nadu shine': Kamal Haasan pens heartfelt note to 'brother' Vijay as he takes oath as Chief Minister

C. Joseph Vijay officially assumed office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday (May 10). The swearing-in followed the May 4 election results, which saw Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam emerge as the single largest party in the state assembly. In his first speech after taking charge, Vijay announced a key welfare measure. He said domestic consumers would receive free electricity for up to 200 units. Joseph Vijay ennum naan” ketachu.”PM Modi and Trisha Krishnan join the celebrationNarendra Modi also extended his wishes to Vijay and assured continued cooperation between the central and state governments.“Congratulations to Thiru C. Vijay promises new governanceAddressing supporters after taking the oath, Vijay thanked party workers and the people for placing their trust in him, as reported by News 18.“You have given me a huge responsibility. But my request to you is to give me some time,” Vijay said in his speech, before adding, “I will never make a mistake.”“There were many problems and many insults that I faced. You considered these problems and insults as our own and faced them on my behalf,” he added.“As far as Tamil Nadu is concerned, I won’t hide things or shy away from you,” the ‘Jana Nayagan’ actor said.Women’s safety among top prioritiesVijay said his government would focus strongly on women’s safety, fight drug-related crimes, and ensure welfare benefits reached every section of society. “I will focus on women’s safety,” Vijay said. On the cinema front, Vijay will next be seen in ‘Jana Nayagan,’ his highly anticipated upcoming release.
