Tamil Nadu: TVK crosses majority mark as VCK, IUML extend support
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) crossed the majority mark in the Tamil Nadu Assembly after VCK and IUML extended support to Vijay-led party’s bid to form the government. VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan formally handed over a support letter, taking TVK’s tally to 119, before IUML support pushed it to 120 MLAs. India announced the successful flight-test of an Advanced Agni missile equipped with Multiple Independently Targeted Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology, significantly boosting the country’s strategic strike capability. The Enforcement Directorate arrested Punjab industries minister and AAP leader Sanjeev Arora in a money laundering case after conducting raids across Delhi, Gurugram and Chandigarh.
