Salman Khan backs Anurag Kashyap's ‘Bandar’ amid brother Abhinav Kashyap's allegations: 'Akele mat jaana’
Salman Khan has extended his support to Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming film ‘Bandar’, sharing its teaser on social media despite his bitter fallout with Anurag’s brother Abhinav Kashyap. Salman cheered for Bobby Deol and Sanya Malhotra starrer, writing, “Akele mat jaana.” The film is set to release on June 5.

Salman Khan has chosen to set aside the long-standing bitterness with ‘Dabangg’ director Abhinav Kashyap and extend his support to the latter’s brother, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, for his upcoming film ‘Bandar’. This comes despite Abhinav repeatedly levelling serious allegations against Salman over the years, making the gesture all the more noteworthy.

Salman Khan extends support to Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bandar’

Khan recently took a moment to show his support for Bobby Deol and Sanya Malhotra’s upcoming film ‘Bandar’. Shortly after the teaser was unveiled on May 7, Salman shared it on his Instagram handle, writing, “Bandar Teaser out now! The movie starring Bobby releases on June 5!”.

Salman Khan’s quirky Instagram story

He also took to his Instagram stories to hype up the film in his signature quirky style, writing, “B for Bobby deol A for aag N nahi jaoge toh pachtaoge D for deol ABB sunny deol A for abhi kya? Aamir khan? R for Race so Race to the cinema to see it Akele mat jaana doston ke saath jao aur haan Bandar karega ab sab ko Cinema ke andar.” (B for Bobby Deol, A for fire, N for ‘if you don’t go, you’ll regret it,’ D for Deol now Sunny Deol. A for what now? Aamir Khan? R for Race, so race to the cinema to watch it. Don’t go alone, go with your friends. And yes, now Bandar will bring everyone inside the theatres)

Fans react to Salman Khan’s gesture

Fans were quick to flood the comments section with love and appreciation. “Salman sir always for everyone… Love u bhaijaan,” wrote one user, while another chimed in with, “You know the movie’s going to be a banger when Bhai talks about it.” The gesture also drew surprise from some corners, with one user simply noting, “Salman sharing an AK film teaser,” while another struck a more emotional note, asking, “SalmanKhan is there celebrating everyone but who is there for him?”.

Abhinav Kashyap’s allegations against Salman Khan

For those unaware of the backstory, Abhinav has been making a series of serious claims against Salman for quite some time now. He has alleged that the actor took undue credit for ‘Dabangg’ and hinted at manipulation behind the scenes. Most recently, Abhinav appeared on a podcast where he dug up an old incident from the sets of ‘Tere Naam’, claiming that Salman made things so difficult for his brother Anurag that the filmmaker was left with no choice but to walk away from the project.

‘Bandar’: Cast, release date and everything

‘Bandar’, helmed by Anurag Kashyap and penned by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee, is backed by Saffron Entertainment and presented by Zee Studios. The film brings together a diverse ensemble cast comprising Bobby Deol, Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Saba Azad, Indrajith Sukumaran, Jitendra Joshi, Raj B Shetty, and Nagesh Bhonsle. The film had already generated considerable buzz after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and is now gearing up for its theatrical release on June 5.
